We often hear the quote "You'll find love when you stop searching for it".
Perhaps, this is because to stop looking for love we must give up that part of ourselves that is hopeful. The part of us that makes sunsets brighter when you're holding a hand. That makes cocktails sweeter when your sharing them over dinner. That makes grocery shopping less mundane when your bickering with the one you love about whole wheat or white bread. Perhaps, when we give up all that hope, we are simply left with ourselves. Lonely sunsets, empty glasses and way to much food for one person.
Maybe love finds us when we stop searching, but I wouldn't take that to the bank. Keep hoping, dreaming, wishing that one day you'll meet a soul that creates butterflies in the part of your stomach you stop believing existed. The moment you stop hoping, is the moment when the daydreaming child that lives in us all, vanishes.
